Ryde Hospital nurse tops peers on International Nurses Day

A man working in a female dominated profession has claimed the top nurses honour at Ryde Hospital.

Enrolled nurse Ciaran McCloughan received The Nurse 2016 award for outstanding performance after being nominated by his peers on International Nurses Day earlier this month.

Mr McCloughan is known for his brilliant sense of humour and ability to show compassion and understanding in times of need, a hospital spokeswoman said.

His maturity, and ability to detect a deteriorating patient and respond also won the respect of his peers.
